All of this descends into some really nifty looking tights that ends with a pair of muted pastel purple combat boots. Rough and cute, but bright and pretty at the same time. This is an example of how to rock natural hair, with the blond hair being used as a canvass to be dressed up and prettied. Again, another example of how to rock natural hair: keep the style cute, and doll it up with cute accessories. I love the creepers with the thigh highs, especially because the color molds into the two items so well.
The black on the thigh highs also matches the cardigan, which is another plus! This outfit is like a pastel rainbow, and shows that a mixing of different colors can work with the pastel color scheme. I also love the pearls! They give a shine and a gloss that simply cannot be achieved with other jewellery items. Really love the black on pink here, which is contrasted with the fluro hair color and the deep yet pale blue look of the cardigan.
Bright and colorful, and it just screams fairy from the tips of the highest mountain or cloud. The extravagant wig is supplied by Toxic Blossom who make simply amazing fairy-kei items, and the blouse is a Cherry D specialty.
The Hello Kitty bag just takes everything to a whole other level of cute, and how something can be so plush and yet still be real will forever be a mystery to me. I love the light pinks mixed in the light blues, and the star necklace really stands out as a result of the light colors present.
Everything from the hair accessory, to the shoes, all makes my cute meter flaunt with the idea of exceeding its threshold. Even the earrings are a fantastic element that makes this outfit pop! Rounding off this list is everything that embodies this scene — simple, colorful, cute, and fashion oriented.
Utilizing items for unconventional things, like taking an oversized Tee and turning it into a lovely little dress, and incorporating other trends into the style like the creepers or the red hair tip highlights. Color schemes are always light, and pastels are always included. Whites may be used as well to offset the amount of color used, but entirely pastel coordinates are acceptable as well.
Popular colors are pastel pink, baby blue, lavender, mint, and light yellow. There are no requirements on what type of clothing to wear for fairy kei. However, clothing is usually loose and cute. Traditionally sexy clothing, or form-fitting clothing, is generally discouraged. Popular items are tulle skirts and petticoats, pastel tights such as you would see in sweet lolita , oversized sweaters and t-shirts, or a-line dresses, and puffy bloomer shorts.
Popular motifs of moons on clothing include stars, polka dots, sweets, teddy bears, unicorns, and hearts. Lots of different patterns, details, and colors are also often combined for a more interesting look.
Any pastel shoe can work for fairy kei, but popular choices are pastel sneakers and boots, such as Doc Martins, rocking-horse shoes, high heels occasionally, and mary janes or tea party shoes.
Accessories are cute and plentiful in fairy kei. However, they are not as abundant as in Decora. Bows and cute clips are popular. Bunched socks, leg warmers, painted cute nails, cute bracelets, rings, and necklaces, vintage lunchboxes, cute backpacks, and plush purses are also popular.
Pastel-colored hair or natural hair colors are both used in fairy kei. For bags, a cartoon-print backpack I have a pink one with Marie from Aristocats on it! Or just a plain pastel one.
And how did women wear their hair back then? A favourite hairstyle among Fairy Kei girls is the high side pony with a bow in it, of course. The general twintails, pigtails, high buns or just long, flowing, elegant locks work just fine. And the choice is, of course, usually some sort of pastel. As for makeup; There is not a big emphasis on that in Fairy Kei boo hoo!
And why not a layer of sparkly, shimmery nail polish? If you happen to be male, or just generally uncomfortable in skirts and dresses, why not try a pair of those cute culotte trousers that are so popular among Kodonas and Oujis? Get a pair in white or pastel, and a cute T-shirt or sweater. Now, dress up in your brightest, funkiest Fairy Kei wear… and go forth and make the world a cuter place!
